BANGKOK, Jul 13 (FAM) – In the wake of the official announcement in the National Gazette on May 17, 2017 following the approval of National Legislative Assembly Thailand (NLA), Thailand’s new Customs Act B.E. 2560 (2017) which repeals the outdated and controversial Customs Act B.E. 2469 (1926) is scheduled to come into effect 180 days from the publication, or on November 13, 2017.

The revision aims to modernize customs administration and procedures, facilitate trade, streamline duties collection and enhance the transparency of customs duties.
