LONDON, Jun 23 (FAM) – Container shipping companies would be wise to remain cautious, despite a modest rise in freight rates since the beginning of 2017, with capacity reductions still vital in restoring the demand-and-supply balance, said Fitch Ratings in a report.

It noted that container shipping volumes exceeded growth in capacity for the first time since 2010-2011, as owners delayed taking delivery of newbuilds and accelerated the vessel scrapping rate.
