TAIPEI, May 26 (FAM) – Demand for Asia-Europe rail services is continuing to strengthen as shippers begin to realise the pricing and time savings intermodal solutions can deliver, according to one leading Asia-based 3PL. But ensuring transit times of just 14 days requires close monitoring of customs and other processes.

Taiwan-based Dimerco said demand for its ‘Cross-Border Train Freight’ service, which connects China with Europe, Central Asia, and Russia, was on the rise and its popularity was now prompting modal shift. CBFT was launched seven years ago and Dimerco said customers were reporting substantial cost and transit time savings.
