FRANKFURT, May 11 (FAM) – Robots provide a flexible solution to increasing fluctuations in logistics and warehousing demand driven by the rise in e-commerce, according to DHL’s contract logistics division, which is expanding its experiments in the use of ‘Sawyer’ and other robots.

Simon Woodward, director of co-packing and production logistics at DHL Supply Chain, said customers in consumer industries were seeing huge fluctuations in demand as consumer preferences changed. “The rise of e-commerce has led to a surge in the number of deliveries within the network, and the flexible nature of Sawyer allows us to quickly respond to changing needs, delivering solutions to meet demands and fill labour gaps.”
