BEIJING, May 11 (FAM) – A total of 11 countries and regions along the “One Belt, One Road” (B&R) initiative have signed free trade agreements (FTAs) with China, a vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said Wednesday.

Experts said that while the B&R initiative is a grand vision, the various FTAs are the concrete drivers for the initiative, and the two will complement one another. Officially called the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, the B&R initiative was proposed in 2013. The Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation on Sunday and Monday in Beijing.
