TOKYO, Dec 1 (FAM) – Nippon Express has become the latest forwarder to offer customers a rail freight service between China and Europe, following in the footsteps of some of its major peers.

Having being tested out during the summer, the Japanese operator launched a full commercial service this autumn with one weekly round trip linking the Chinese cities Wuhan and Chongqing with Duisburg and Hamburg in Germany in a transit time of 15-18 days. Each train carries around 50 containers.
